Dr Marilyn Kerr has reduced her commitment to the practice and is now working on a Thursdays and Fridays only.

Dr Farrah Azam has reduced her commitment to the practice and will be here all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and a Thursday morning.

Our new GP trainees are Dr Vicky Brindle, who will be with us until the end of July 2012 and Dr Sam Cambell who will be with us until the end of July 2012

Dr Farrah Sheikh is now a qualified general practitioner and she will be working with us as a locum .

Dr Kissen retired from the practice at the end of March 2012.

ACTION PLAN

 Our own experience of this survey was that it was quite difficult to get patients to complete it.  On reflection, if it is done again, the questionnaire needs to be shortened and the answers not quite as open ended.

For the patient experience it appears that generally they were satisfied with the service that we provide.  They did however pick up three areas that we could improve on.  They are as follows:-

1.                  Patients were not aware of the facility of booking doctors’ appointments online.

2.                  Patients were not aware of telephone appointments offered by GPs.

3.                  Patients were not aware of the facility to order their repeat prescriptions online.

After discussion with all our staff in the surgery we propose some action plans.  The facility of managing appointments and repeat prescriptions online just needs to be advertised more profusely.  Suggestions were to put a poster up in the surgery, text message those people who are on the text messaging service already and put notes on the right hand side of repeat prescriptions.  The GP telephone appointments also need to be advertised.  This could be done in the same way but in addition it could be more routinely offered as an alternative to the first point of contact with patients.  We have Jayex boards and a newsletter, which also could be used.

This action plan has been approved by the practice patient participation group.
